Tacoma Narrows Bridges
a few days ago, I was crossing the Tacoma Narrows and decided that I would like to photograph the towers together but didn't have my camera handy; it was in my pack in the back seat. I was resigned to "well, I saw it." but there was an accident ahead on the other side and the traffic going my way stopped for lookie loos... I put on the brake and reached back, grabbed what my hand touched... my pack, good, I had the pack open and camera out in a couple seconds... made my exposure and then waited for the cars to move on... No, I didn't make this image while driving... but, I did make others... because I was driving and not looking at the camera (Pentax Optio S40), I'll post this one...

I was just on that bridge last week. It had been years since I lived there!

good night Irene. they're finally building that second bridge?!! I need to get north. Too many changes.

That friggin bridge became the bane of my existence whenever the ferry lines were to long and I had to "drive around." I hated it. Wonder when it will be completed?

Wasn't the original taken down by wind? =)

yes, we've lost three major bridges in WA; the other two were floating bridges: Hood Canal Floating Bridge and one of the Lake Washington I-90 floating bridges.

"Floating" bridges...

That's wht I refer to them as "usually floating bridges". ;-)
Are you making an album of the progress?

Re: "Floating" bridges...

No, I might if I lived near the bridge, but my bridge images are only when I'm passing by and have my camera handy... anything more and I'd probably be on another t------- list...

ps was planning to cut wood today... I promptly lost your neighbor's phone number and just now remembered that it's like yours--one that doesn't have to be remembered... Cookie's bro and sis-in-law visited today and now I gotta get the saws sharpened and gas mixed...

Ed,
My wife sent me to your site to check out the photos. Excellent work. It has been a while since I have seen work this pure. I would like to be added to your list so I can be updated on your posts.

sure, thank you for your kind words about my work... stand by as most of my posts are "friends only" so be ready for a flooded friends page

I see in your icon that you've got a Budda Board too. I recently gave my wife one...
